this is a good sentence on its merits, but it's so long the impact of spritz, PRAMG, and cringe-worthy is diminished. By the time I get to PRAMG era I've forgotten about the spritz-punktragabigzanda wrote:“Dark Matter, the 12th album from the formerly interesting Pearl Jam, traffics less in the spritz-punk that anchored their more recent output, opting instead for the most cringe-worthy retreads of their anthemic early years on the most tiresome album of the so-called PRAMG era.”

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Post Riot Act Meat Grinder?Val wrote:That’s dementiastip wrote:this is a good sentence on its merits, but it's so long the impact of spritz, PRAMG, and cringe-worthy is diminished. Ah the irony of Ed singing “counts his money every morning. The only thing that keeps him horny.”

Sounds like a potential Avocado situation. On the other hand, this also feels like speculation, considering that we've heard/read the comments by the band and I don't feel they are in any way antagonistic toward what they did on Gigaton.bluestate wrote:"While not exactly a complete apology for Gigaton, the comments the band have made thus far have an implicit undertone: If you didn’t like reflective aging Pearl Jam, don’t worry, we turned the guitars back up." Oh geez, don't say it ain't so. My worst nightmare.

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
I'm sorry to report I have it on good authority Rm won't care for this album.
My sources tell me that Matt is still Drummer. Ed is still singing. Stone gives zero shits. Mike gives lots of shit. Jeff is the shit. It is a anthemic album much like Backspacer. Stip and myself will love it. Harmless will defend Strat will be uncomfortable with it. Everyone else who regularly post here will hate it.
