ICP talking about the band on YMH

Post by nosajh9 »

pretty interesting hearing them talk on YMH how pearl jam is their favorite band, and making fun of how they use no gimmicks as a gimmick for success. starts @ 1 hour 10 minutes.

i just picked my daughter (12) up from a local venue doing a local band showcase event. Her best friend (also 12) was performing. She ran out excited to tell me Spider Nuggets (her friend’s band - great name) played a pearl jam song. She recorded it on her phone so we could listen on the way home. Two song set.

Song 1: About a Girl
Song 2:
Spoiler: show

was it the electric / faster tempo early version Nirvana 'about a girl' or was it the more mellow acoustic

Heh, in their defense, I too thought song 2 was a new Pearl Jam song when it first hit the radio back in 1992 or whenever. I even remember what I was doing. I drove my brother and my friend to the KFC to get some of the new popcorn chicken they were debuting.

This is how we get the memory of the whole album spontaneously created in all of our brains at once like it was always there.
