Some of the Dark Matter ones are exclusive to independent record stores right?

Mike posted a photo with a trans fan captioned "protect trans kids" on Facebook a while ago, and there is a photo somewhere with Jeff wearing a beanie hat in trans pride flag colours

So B's going to have to drive all over the country to get them?

Raise your hand if you still hold the same idealistic views you did when you were in your mid-20's?

im not sure that is the right framing. i am in many ways more idealistic now than i was in my 20s, or at least there is a much broader spectrum of things i care about. what changes compared to my youth is the energy i have to be outraged about them all the time, and an increased awareness of the complexity around why things are the way they are, which tends to lead to a shift towards trying to live ethically and well within the system you are a part of, rather than raging against it

Listening to pearl jam on shuffle. Dark Matter and Oceans were both part of the set, and coming through car speakers oceans sounds more of synch with the catalog than DM

It looked like Billie eilish’s tickets from her last tour ranged from 90-900 according to her website. Not sure how many were sold at each range. She also sold VIP packages up to 3350 which include floor seats, a lanyard, and a gift.

https://billieeilishtickets.us/vip/

This was 2022, her last tour I think.

Kid rock has been complaining about costs for over a decade. Not sure what actions he has taken. He might still be wrapping his mind around it.

His Ticketmaster prices on the one show I saw on TM ranged from 60-372 for a show in two weeks so if he is using dynamic pricing there seems to be less demand for his tickets.

It’s easy to complain about things in interviews. Still better to call out the behaviors than not, so good on them. Harder to act or move beyond posturing.
Yes, they opted to use flex pricing

And declined to use recyclable vinyl like Billie Eilish and Shellac

And to pay their merch artists in actual currency

And to stop getting weird cosmetic procedures

And to release even marginally good music

And to stop hanging out with Bill Maher

There’s a spectrum of deplorable behavior
Pearl Jam have been carbon neutral since before Billie was born.

“Good Music” or good production? You might wanna start a religion and raise a flag about the subject.

Well said, and I’ll add: you also realize that part of a happy life is not being so pissed off all the time and enjoying the simple, yet precious moments we all take for granted every day. Having a one month old in the house has taught me a lot about that. I’m fortunate to have professional/financial “success” (extremely subjective I know), and now I have the most cherished thing - a family and daughter. As much as I may want to be mad at the way the world works, I do so at the risk of my own happiness and the happiness of those around me. I understand that many, many, many people are not in my very fortunate position, but you can simultaneously enjoy that life while working on behalf of and advocating for an elevated std of living for all. Meanwhile, you have every right to be happy as a clam. This is kind of the arc I have seen Ed take throughout the years. He seems really, really happy with his life (fam, friends, bandmates, causes) but still cares deeply about that which he is passionate. He just seems like a happy old guy working to further those causes- it’s a much better Ed. Maybe not for the music haha, but for himself.

And then we should rank every public comment made in an interview by a musician in an interview related to any social, political, or economic cause.

* raises hand* If anything I’ve become more committed to social justice and human rights causes. The difference is I understand better how things work and where and how to place my energy. And I’ve developed a better understanding and acceptance of how to live within what society demands and able to better hold the beauty and the terrible things in the world simultaneously.
