We all have no idea what Scared of Fear and Setting Sun sound like since they weren’t included in the metal door clips. Except I think that ambient segment that was teased in earlier videos of the album/tour announcement is the beginning of Scared of Fear. At least that’s what I’m thinking after reading the Stone interview with Spin.
that ambient clip is my favourite few seconds we've heard from the album so far, I can't wait to hear where it belongs
I don’t think I heard it.
Can anyone please share a link?

both logical extension and cringe worthy for your bingo card.

I appreciate the effort that went into describing the songs

I think there's two things I want out of a review, depending on whether or not the music is out/I can access it. if something is already out, I read reviews for insights into the album - deeper dives into themes, descriptions of the music that help unlock what I'm hearing that I may not be able to fully process, or phrasing that puts it into words better than I could do. I look for a review to enhance my experience of the album.

Prior to an album coming out I mostly want detailed descriptions of how a song physically sounds - either through direct descriptions or, failing that (or supplementing it) connections to prior catalog moments as short hand.

I only read that review once. It didn't do the former, but I feel like I walked out of it with a more robust understanding of what to expect next.

Why do "reviewers" feel the need to one up each other with these comparison descriptions? This was so tedious to read. Yikes.

Is no one else aggravated that the reviewer seemingly doesn't know the difference between "brought" and "bought"?
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

agree; in terms of giving me an idea of what the music sounds like (the only reason I'm here) it's the best review I've read so far; whether or not the reviewer is "right" about how those songs sound doesn't bother me in the slightest; I'll evaluate that for myself when I hear it, I acknowledge music is a subjective artform, and so is reviewing it

"Quickly adopted as the official soundtrack of my pandemic existence!
"As much as I love my "emotional support record", once the pandemic limitations were lifted, Gigaton disappeared. Those were moments I waited to close my mental curtain on."

Pretty much my exact experience with Gigaton. Thanks for sharing, sweeper.

This time they completely forgot to write about a few songs.

But thanks for dwelling on the pandemic for so long, I guess.

Something Special plays out like The Haves? as long as Ed doesn't call his kids "the proles squatting at my digs" we'll be fine

Missed about 60% of the album!

Who are all these random reviewers getting the album in advance? Is that normal business and I just never noticed because Pearl Jam is the only band I follow to this degree that I read that many reviews in advance?
