Overall it is a very solid 7.5. Heat wise it's probably a 3 but you want a 3 sometimes. The flavor is very good

Any recs for actually good sauces from the Hot Ones show over the years? I came across a store yesterday with dozens of bottles from the show, arranged by spiciness. Got a bit overwhelmed and didn't buy anything, but I'm willing to go back. It was a great display

That’s how I discovered Secret Aardvark, which is one of my favorite hot sauces ever.

Most of their sauces are good. Dirty Dicks, Secret Aardvark, Lucky Dog, Queen Majesty... they've had some all-timers in their roster

Try the brand Amazon, they're very good. They're form Valle del Cauca and made from Colombian peppers. I think you can find them in almost any supermarket.

I really really liked the Pineapple Habanero sauce (on the right), eaten with quinoa stuffed peppers tonight, nice sweet flavor. I also tasted the Vermont one (on the left) but found it a bit harsh and vinegar-forward. Maybe that was just because it didn't fit stuffed peppers, or maybe the contrast with the sweeter sauce was too stark. I'll try it again by itself on something else another day

Yeah, I think the Maple Wood Smoked Onion Hot Sauce is a tad harsh for my taste. I can handle, I just don't really enjoy it

What do you do if you buy a hot sauce and don’t like it? Just throw it out? The gamble is too high for me.

I know it isn’t any kind of new sauce, but Yellow Bird has worked its way in to my regular rotation. It’s especially great on oysters and non red sauce pasta

Three fruity hot sauces that are actually delicious:

- Fat Cat Strawberry Serrano
- Dirty Dick's Tropical Twist
- Angry Goat Purple Hippo
