Yup and it's no coincidence that many of those are favorites of mine. All or None is as good as music gets in my opinion.

I've been saying for a long time (since Backspacer actually) that if they want to go "pop" with a darker edge, they really need to consciously look at The Cure; I didn't really hear that until Earthling ("The Dark") but I look forward to hearing more of it

While I think The Dark is a great track, I really hope to not hear anything quite that poppy and glossy on this album (yeah, I know something special will prob be just that).

Apparently there are some Cure vibes in both Wreckage and Won't Tell. Time WILL tell whether there is balance and it sounds good.

The clip of won't tell on metal door sesh has me really excited (as does React, Respond).

it's gonna be glossy, it's Watt, best come to terms with that; but a lot of the best The Cure is glossy and poppy, which is why it might work (Love Cats, Friday I'm in Love, Pictures of You, and on)

Yellow Moon produced by Josh Evans would have been something I could connect with a lot more, I imagine. Retrograde is kind of in the same ballpark, and unlike many here, I eat it up every time I hear it.

none, we can enjoy (or not enjoy) whatever we want for whatever reason if it's not hurting anyone

oh, yeah that too! I always think Retrograde is 70s folk rock ballad done right so I'm not sure why I didn't add it to Neil Youngish songs

I hear a little Betterman in the driving country twang rock of ROTFW

Nothingman in any number of Neil's swingy mournful folk ballads

Undone doesn't sound like any particular Neil song off the top of my head, but it's not dissimilar to some Crazy Horse

Depends on your taste. If you want the full Cure experience, go with good headphones, loud volume, and Disintegration front to back. If you want to hear how spacy and atmospheric they can sound while still playing in the pop playground, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me could be fun. FWIW, my favorite pop song by them is "High" which is from Wish. But Disintegration will tell you if you're a Cure fan. You might be in head over heels by the end of it

p.s. - their early stuff is really post-punk. If you haven't heard "Fire in Cairo" you should check it out.
