I'm sure that I'm irrationally overhyped, but I'm expecting good things. I expect a few cringe lines, things that make me wince at first, but over time grow on me. I'm kind of expecting the best album since Avocado

I don't expect better (or need better) than Gigaton, but better than the previous two would be nice

I'm in this line. I've kind of bought into the notion that this is the Avocado to Gigaton's Riot Act. I love both of those albums, so I will be fine with that if it is the case.

Im pretty sure itll be better or more complex than LB so im happy with that. Better than Gigaton? well see. DM hinted to a possible very good album and Running was a bit of a let down after the first single.

Seems like Running is this album’s Lukin. Weird choice for a single.

yeah, im not worried. I like the song enough and it sure made me eager of more stuff from the album.

If the listening party is happening next sunday and those guys will have cds, we can expect a leak soon.

I have to believe that at the very least, people will be open air recording it. The one near me starts at 2 pm, so yeah, we're about a week away from low audio fidelity leaks if not better.

I wish I had the strength to avoid the record store listening since two days later I'll be in the theater with great sound, but I am pretty sure I'm gonna fold to hear this thing as soon as I can.

I'm definitely going to the record store. I have no excuses. It's 5 minutes from my house. I could probably crawl there.

8 days and counting...

I'll cave as soon as there is a high quality rip. No record stores of theatres are hosting a listening party in my area.

Ours was Never Let Go. Perfect wedding song IMO. Wife let me have it even though she’s not a Waits fan cause she likes the sentiment. However, she tells people our song was sung by the fucking Cookie Monster.
if i was going to choose a TW song thats a pretty great choice. I went with the much safer at my most beautiful

I hope it's better than Gigaton. Unfortunately, Gigaton is my least favorite album. I know for some it was a "return to form" but it just has too many clunkers, annoyances and songs I just don't like.

I honestly think this is gonna be the return to form. I like both singles

We ended the night with I Want You. Nice little coda to the night.

Out of the last three PJ albums, which songs do you like? Just curious.

At this point, I think I have the fortitude to not listen to anything new until I have a high-quality leak or the 19th arrives.

I think.

I actually quite like Backspacer and Lightning Bolt. I've been revisiting them lately in anticipation for Dark Matter.

Some of my favs from Backspacer would be GSMF, Got Some, Fixer, Amongst the Waves, Unthought Known, Just Breathe. I think most of them sit at around a 7 or 8/10.

Same goes for Lightning Bolt. Favs would be Getaway, MYM, Sirens, Lightning Bolt, My Fathers Son, Pendulum. I had some disappointment with Infallible, and the pacing of the end of the album with LTRP into Future Days.

On some level, I think I LIKE every song on both Backspacer and LB. Not love, but like.

On Gigaton, it's my first time having a visceral dislike to a few songs. Superblood Wolfmoon, Never Destination, Buckle Up, River Cross, just simply don't vibe with these. And even the songs I do like, like Who Ever Said and Quick Escape have elements of wordiness or just general things that turn me off.

I do really like Take The Long Way. That song sounds like it came straight out of Riot Act. I also really like DOTC and Alright, and the end of Retrograde.

Thanks. Even though I deeply enjoy the songs you dislike on Gigaton, I can kind of grok how they are different in some ways.

Just noticed your tag. That ending to Retrograde actually gives me chills. It's great.

The songs I said I dislike, eh they are ok. More like 5 or 6/10 for me. I don't hate the album. It's just def my least favorite.

I have a good feeling about Dark Matter for some reason
