Good call, this album is apt to be on par with Van Gogh
For people who’d cut both their ears off

Do you guys think if we influence the Pearl Jam fandom enough that Dark Matter becomes known as "the terrible sounding record" we'll get a Brendan O'Brien remix? We should start planning. Everyone please complain on every Instagram post and we'll push those posts to the top every time by liking them.
Maybe we should find out who interviews Pearl Jam next and convince them to ask why the record sounds so bad.
We should also make big posters for every show we attend with some slogans about the bad sound until Eddie notices. Really push his buttons. "Neil Young would hate the sound on Dark Matter!" "Real punk boys would have better sounding records!"
We can do this

We need to work with shame. I will try to reach Sean Penn and Bill Maher.
Maybe get Steve Albini to make an interview that goes viral about the current state of rock music and how Pearl Jam compromised their beliefs
We could also try to get Ian MacKaye to shame them about ticket prices

Recalling a conversation from 20+ pages ago (or something), if I absolutely have to cut tens of my favorite bands then my top 5 is like this:

1. Tool.
Firmly in the number 1 spot because they are unreachable, untouchable, unparallellable, induplicable, in a class of their own, no contest.

2. Tom Waits.
Ought to be up there because he simply must. He's almost family. I have an I'd-write-him-in-my-will kind of affection going on here.

3. King Krule.
I stumbled across a few early songs on Soundcloud way before he became successful and haven't cooled down since. Just an exceptional talent.

4. Tame Impala.
Ought to up here because these aussie boys simply slay.

5. Pearl Jam.

Honorable mention: Sigur Ros for their astonishing Von album. I love it dearly.

They are magical. I can't find a better epithet.
It's a shame that streaming platforms only carry one or two of their later stage albums and none of the early, deliciously tasty stuff.
