If you don't like how he sounds on this that's obviously fine (my tastes for Eddie run pretty much in tandem with Release_Me) but singling this out does have 'gotta nuke something' vibes to me

I've had half a day of getting mentally stuck on a bugbear. You've been fighting the good fight for months. Nevertheless, I very much look forward to your continued fervor as we approach release.
Have you seen the degree of granularity in some of the discussions around here?Hypnosomnia wrote:It is quite absurd how nitpicking the fan is
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Re: Something Special
I bet McCready has a nice solo on this song because the shuffle time feel lends itself well to guitar solos.

Do you think that whoever was responsible for the 30 second clip of this thought "let's put the part in where Ed says "fuck", people love when he does that"?

We gonna relentlessly bitch about whatever comes out too.
I'm digging this clip. The vocal melody had me interested since the metal door Troubadour clip.
This bass tho... Interesting.

Re: Something Special
I'm actively avoiding hearing the clip of this on PJ socials or anywhere else. I want my first listen of "Something Special" to be in a darkened movie theater in Dolby Atmos the way its author's intended.
But seriously I am looking forward to hearing it next Tuesday. Anyone else holding out until then? (Assuming DM leaks)

Re: Something Special
Paul McCartney plays bass on one of the Stones new songs Bite My Head Off. Jeff's bass sound on this Something Special clip sounds very similar. I've also seen an interview with Watt where he talks about his love for the violin-style bass guitar, so there's a possible connection here, in terms of the gear (and obviously same producer).

Ed sounds fine. It's some of the lyrics that I might be worried about. I can tolerate a lot of cheese in PJ nowadays, but this is getting close.

I do think Ed sounds good in this clip.
