Re: What movies are you watching?
Halfway through and .. man.. I still don't know about this movie. (killers of flower moon). It just feels like the vibe is off. The Goodfellas treatment feels unnecessary here. Seems like it should be more of a somber tragedy than a fun crime flick. I get the feeling Scorsese wanted to make it more full-on Goodfellas but also wanted to be sympathetic to the victims, and it feels like a muddled vision to me. The story is incredible and I would love to see it remade by another auteur one day.

I'd like to see Zach Snyder take a crack at it

Re: What movies are you watching?
saw Monkey Man tonight
what an absolutely beautiful movie, left me speechless
an "action" movie, constructed and paced like a slow-burn horror drama, running the whole gamut of emotion from beauty to brutality

Describing Killers of the Flower Moon as a "fun crime flick" that got the "Goodfellas treatment" is just nuts to me. It's a deeply emotional, sorrowful movietree_ wrote:Halfway through and .. man.. Re: What movies are you watching?
It's in the music, the humour, the way dire moments are presented. It's way too fun a movie for the subject matter. Maybe it's just my sensibilities, 'cause a lot of people seem to love it.Jorge wrote:Describing Killers of the Flower Moon as a "fun crime flick" that got the "Goodfellas treatment" is just nuts to me.
