According to the leaked liner notes, background vocals for this song are credited to Sean Penn and Bill Maher.

Sure, it's played in open tuning

Re: Wreckage
this drum groove is exactly what Matt plays on his version of Daughter (live), and the picking / strumming with both 8th and 16th notes to give it groove is similarStrat wrote:It doesnt sound like daughter except maybe tempo. Get out of here with that nonsense.

I agree that the prequels weren't perfect, but at least George had a vision for them. The sequels are cash grab filth that insult the intelligence of millions of fans.

Yeah, I don't really hear Daughter in this. More like Swallowed Whole, as you said, or really a sped-up Sirens.oneway23 wrote:As opposed to Daughter? YesDDWJMUVW wrote:oneway23 wrote:Val wrote:It sounds more like Swallowed Whole, goddammit

I'm better understanding why one of the critics who heard it early compared it to Backspacer. Everything's had the kind of sheen that album has in spots.

I hope it starts just like that, with the guitar opening and then drums coming in. What a great throwback to Daughter. I'm gonna love this track

This sounds nothing like Tom Petty. I was worried it would be like Long Way which is too close for comfort in terms of an homage. Honestly, it sounds like modern PJ but there’s a relaxed straight-forward vibe to it that they rarely do.

Not for me. Great album upon release. Served its purpose at the perfect time, and fell quickly out of the rotation beyond that.Ms Harmless wrote:Gigaton was the bar; I like this but it's not Gigaton, yetoneway23 wrote:Post-ST? Yestragabigzanda wrote:

Has some great songs on it, but, the staying power wasn't there.
Back half loses too much steam.
