Hopefully one of the worst is Something Special. Although I’d have to hear the entire song. A part of me feels like it could be this bright sounding song in the vein of Down but at the same time it could be something of a clunker like a song from Lightning Bolt. I’ll try to stay positive until the full song comes along.

As for one of the best, it’s gotta be Waiting For Stevie (even if a cheesy song title). I’m still looking forward to React, Respond the most given the metal door clip with that solo.
And to clarify I like the song Down even with its upbeat brighter sound. I just hope Something Special will end up being the same way.

All I really want or expect are 3-4 keepers per album at this point in their career. I'd gladly suffer through the nadir of the catalog in exchange for one more bonafide all-time classic.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Did we hear the chorus? Was that in the metal door leak? Haven’t listened to that in weeks.
We’ve been getting bridges. This is a middle 8. The chorus is on the metal door leak.

The "Wreckage" clip sounds like a verse and maybe a pre-chorus. It would be a pretty boring bridge IMO

So for me it's Wreckage>>Running>>Dark Matter>>Something Special at this point but I will say that it wouldn't shock me if this ranking changed a bunch in a month. Even Something Special, which I don't really like, is catchy and cheesy and as a Springsteen fan I'm certainly open to liking a cheesy song. Hopefully the full version has a bit more meat on the bone.

For me: Dark Matter>Wreckage>Something Special>Running
For me so far: Dark Matter > Running > Wreckage > Something Special. But that’s only judging from the clips of Something Special and Wreckage of course. Have to hear the entire songs to make a final judgement. I have a feeling Something Special will be ranked last after the other 10 tracks. I hope I find more difficulty ranking songs upon full album release.

Hyden is a legit idiot.
Huh? Why do you think so? I like his indiecast podcast quite a bit and he mostly seems pretty smart?

Don't know if the clips follow this order, but I think we should get 1 clip a day from hereon in. I'm kind of hoping we get parts different from the metal door leak.

I don't know why, but Got to Give is the one I've been most looking forward to since the metal door leak. The reviews have mentioned it in positive enough terms (Who-ish rocker, Eddie spins a good chorus, etc.) without calling it a real standout. At least that's what I recall. The part in the metal door leak might have been the apex of the song, but it sounded great.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

I'm not sure what to make of the song comparisons Cohen had up for Got to Give, though. Unthought Known, Lightning Bolt, Come Back.

I want the song to be epic. The big release in the chorus has to be earned and not manufactured. While these other songs it's compared to were good, they weren't great.

1. we haven't always had bridges, DM wasn't a bridge (it wasn't given to us through the viewer thingy but still), 2. the Wreckage part wasn't from the metal door even though Wreckage was there, 3. I listened to everything we have on earphones last night and I'm happy to report I really enjoyed it all, but because I am morally obligated to rank them

1. DM
2. W
3. SS
4. Running

given that two of these comps are in 4/4 and the other is in 6/8 I wonder if it'll switch timings, like Army Reserve did, or whether the comps are more superficial than that
