OK, so this review calls Scared of Fear one of the band's best ever songs. We were assuming the tweet by the reviewer was referring to WFS.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Of all the obligatory intros attempting to weave in themes of quantum physics and returning to form, this one does a semi decent job.

Re: Dark Matter Reviews
the description of Something Special as "something Red Hot Chilli Peppers would reject" (apart from being amazingly random and nonsensical) is the best endorsement of the song yetJaeti wrote:Personally, I find this one highly encouraging.ABNorman wrote:https://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainmen ... they're not, but the bar for "worst song on an album" is Supersonic so I'm not worried

Re: Dark Matter Reviews
Yeah, that seems to be the case, especially since he says something like Mike "saves" the song. Not really a ringing endorsement.Release_Me wrote:OK, so this review calls Scared of Fear one of the band's best ever songs. We were assuming the tweet by the reviewer was referring to WFS.

"McCready also steps up to save Waiting for Stevie, a song that recalls The Bends-era Radiohead or Urban Hymns-era The Verve, until the guitarist’s scorching fretwork pulls it into a double-time sprint."
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

This reviewer says Got to Give recalls Springsteen whereas most reviewers have likened it to a Who song.

maybe he finds Radiohead depressing so his opinion doesn't matterRelease_Me wrote:"McCready also steps up to save Waiting for Stevie, a song that recalls The Bends-era Radiohead or Urban Hymns-era The Verve, until the guitarist’s scorching fretwork pulls it into a double-time sprint."

I think for Gigaton at some point I made a little spread sheet that tracked what was said about every song in every review. Definitely did not have it in my this time. And it's possible I'm making this up and never did it

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
