Absolutely. They are a gift to adult Star Wars fans just as the OT was a gift to us as children. Part of it for me is that the theme of sacrifice resonates so strongly.Yield Often wrote:Rogue One and Andor - next level.

I'd agree with that. Empire first, then TLJ. They are both good for similar reasons toostip wrote:This looks like the perfect space to share my 100% serious opinion that Last Jedi is either the best or second best Star Wars movie

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
my favourite Star Wars movie is A New Hope, because I find it has a slow poetry the others don't

I find that one a little rigid and awkward. Understandable but I'm not really into it
(I am not generally a big Star Wars fan so take these takes with a grain of salt)

i put a new hope first - it does so much so quickly and the trench run is still maybe the most thrilling sequence in a movie eve. then TLJ then empire.

“I think Wreckage is going to be a single.”
So even Matt didn’t know. He did say there were a few leftover songs. Matt calls the mix “fantastic.”

Matt does not seem very involved in the release of the record not knowing what the single will be and not remembering song titles and not knowing Serbans name lol

around 29 minutes (talking about superunknown) matt says it was taking too long and he likes to record faster. so maybe he is the catalystHypnos wrote:https://youtu.be/LveEoEQyGHM?si=geOhYZbuXFCihkFu

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
The drummer being the least involved doesn’t seem terribly surprising but even Stone said they recorded so quickly that he quickly forgot stuff.

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
What the fuck. What the actual fucking fuck.
How is empire not number one for everyone?? It’s an objective fact that this is the best of them all.
A New Hope is a VERY close second.
Rogue One was great. The Andor series is fucking outstanding. The Mandalorian is mediocre and became boring after the first season.
The most recent movies are mostly hot garbage. There is too much to say about the last Jedi, primarily because it does some things really well, and had some great ideas that it failed to explore or connect to the Star Wars arc in any thoughtful way. That renders it a huge failure. For fucks sake it’s garbage.
The 90’s and early aughts films are the not even worth mentioning with the others. Insult to garbage to call them garbage.
God damn it I wasn’t expecting to get angry about Star Wars on a Pearl Jam forum.

Re: Dark Matter: Official Album Thread
I kinda love the prequels trilogy tbh. Super iconic, with excellent swordfights and weird characters.
