The bit from the bridge up until the end of the final verse is one of my favourite moments from this band.

It is. But I think it's really underserved by S/T's production which doesn't flatter those soaring U2 adjacent moments.

Man, this is a great song. Even with the production burying its attributes, that move out of the bridge into the final verse shows that they still had their inventiveness for cool arrangements and songwriting they'd had on the previous records was present on this one, as well.

When the keyboard comes in is just fantastic.

completely agree, actually the use of organ is one of my favourite things about ST (and why I will defend Gone until my dying day)

hearing this song today reminded me of how good it is, especially hearing the remixed version. these are some of my favorite lyrics from EV. I'm not sure wtf mike is doing, but the guitars are awesome. the aggressive verses get kinda relaxed in the chorus before the bridge bounces all over the place. the end of the song is clearly the best part, i wish they went on for like 2 minutes with it.

The song really is phenomenal. I was thinking about whether or not this was the last time I was really blown away by Ed's lyrics. I must be forgetting something, but it's up there.

It's always been one of my favs from this album, too. It surprised the hell out of me when I first saw folks here posting otherwise.

sometimes eddie vedder sings things that i believe, but can't really express myself. this song is a great example. the music is also incredible.
