read his Valis trilogy, and The Man in the High Castle, and keep in mind that Philip Dick was literally insane.

also, Bladerunner is one of my all time favorite movies. (I wasn't as happy with the book though)

i saw Bladerunner in the movie theater when it came out. long before I started reading anything by PKD. so my reference point is the movie, which is way different from the book

Oh, I watched The Sessions not too long ago. It was good, a well acted and talky film but it had a Lifetime TV movie feel to it. It's not something I think I will ever see again though.
And yes, Helen Hunt got very naked a couple of times. Those scenes would have been a lot more interesting to me twenty years ago.

edit: An over saturation of poorly written coming of age drama themes and the action sequences weren't that great. I will say, though, The Motherfucker (McLovin') was entertaining and so were his cronies. I guess one could argue this is poor criticism as that is exactly what the trailer suggested, but I genuinely wasn't expecting the sappy horseshit throughout.
