Something Special is better than I'd imagined, but still the weakest song on the album. Passable. Just unnecessary.

Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Yeah, React/Respond is the best rocker on DM.
Confirmed in a repeat listen.

I'm not in awe of the chorus on SoF, tbh.
The second half lifts the song but that chorus is... nope, don't like it. Who Ever Said is the better song if were to compare openers.

Seeing that it leaked, going to wait for the official deal, or at least a hi-quality leak, but thanks to those who got it out early. Looking forward to hearing it. They've been talking up The Cure a lot in interviews, interested to see what that means.

God damn it, I leave for band practice and this thing finally leaks? Will someone take pity and point me in the right direction?

Time will judge you. Harshly.
Nah. Ed’s vocals on this are better than Gigaton. Although they suck on DM and Running
sounds like you answered this already but did these land better for you on the full album?
DM was fine in the album listen but running is just jarring to me and felt that way on the album. Something special, while not a favorite, isn’t as bad as the clip and flows on the album

after two listens setting sun might be my favorite. it feels like a song they had been dancing around for a while without actually writing

Thanks for sharing, bluestate.

I listened once and will leave it at that until Friday or a real quality leak. There are some serious overreactions happening here. I do think Something Special and Dark Matter are the two worst.

My initial impression is that if this is better than Gigaton, I think it’s because it isn’t bloated the way Gigaton feels. That said, I think my favorite 8 songs on that record would go toe-to-toe with the best on this one. This feels like a solid record with a couple of stinkers, and the stinkers will get the most plays live, I bet.

I correctly guessed the drum fill from the door leak as being from Waiting For Stevie.

Yay me! :hooray:

Just wait till you hear WFS which alone wipes the floor with everything on Gigaton, and I mean EVERYTHING
