You know what.

Who cares about comparing this to other Pearl Jam.

It's solid.

It's not a stinker.

Seems we are all gonna get our wish of at least liking/loving 5-6 songs.

tbh I'm just nervous to hear a clean mix; it's possible that the bootleg quality of it made my imagination fill in the blanks and concoct a nicer-sounding album than it actually is

Thank you blue state for the write up and others for leaking. I’m so glad almost everyone is loving it so far. Eager to hear it. I think I’ll stay off for a couple of days to avoid spoilers given that it’s not a high quality leak.

This is what I got. It felt like vs and that same setlist feel from them then.
It’s built that way.
Might be my favourite thing about it.

On the contrary, the 'ambient phone recording'-quality effectively covers up all the terrible production choices (which you can still kind of hear, despite all of that).

WFS just hurled me back 20 years...
This is why I fell in love with Pearl Jam, every note, every chord progression, every growl of that voice that always seemed on the edge of breaking.

What an unexpected gift. Wow.

Listened to the iPhone and overall there isn't anyhting which is totally shit like Buckle Up, a lot of semi good tracks, better than LB but will have to see if it gives Backspacer a run for its money. Not Avocado level.

you were totally right about this; there are even awkward stops and starts like in a live gig

Waiting to hear it as intended. Knowing myself, hearing different levels of quality will just mess with my head, and not in a good way.

Confirmed in a repeat listen.

I'm not in awe of the chorus on SoF, tbh.
The second half lifts the song but that chorus is... nope, don't like it. Who Ever Said is the better song if were to compare openers.

React, Respond reminds me of Split Enz more than anything else.

Glad to hear the reactions are largely positive. Excited to listen later this week

That song sounds like at least two Janes addiction/porno for pyros songs

I listened once and will leave it at that until Friday or a real quality leak. There are some serious overreactions happening here. I do think Something Special and Dark Matter are the two worst.

My initial impression is that if this is better than Gigaton, I think it’s because it isn’t bloated the way Gigaton feels. That said, I think my favorite 8 songs on that record would go toe-to-toe with the best on this one. This feels like a solid record with a couple of stinkers, and the stinkers will get the most plays live, I bet.
I love Gigaton. After two listens on a crappy leak I wouldn't say its better. It's definitely different

Yeah. I suspect the production and unnecessary extras are going to get in the way of what sound like good performances.

Even sticking a turd in my ear would sound better than Gigaton.
