Everything around the verses isn’t terrible. Not sure I’ll ever find myself actively wanting to listen to it though.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

I actually really liked this song. It plays the role of the one off, and it’s dad-joke-goofy, and I will 100% lean into it with Eddie. It’s the sequel to Future Days, a man 10 years down the line, but actually done right.

Unbelievable how a song can grow on you
This is one that hits home and makes me think of my kids and where I am in my life
So cool to have a band that has been there for such a large part of it
From angry teen to proud father
I get why this one won't ever be a favorite with some folks on here
Perhaps it's not the coolest song
Perhaps the coolest part of the song is that it knows it's not cool and doesn't try to be
Kind of feels what it's like to be a Dad.

As cheesy as this one seems at first blush, it sounds like nothing to my ears BUT Pearl Jam.

Yes. Being a dad is anything but cool, but there are a lot of feels, and this song has some of them.

Agreed, but it also reminds me a lot of Fallout Today, which is a top 2 song for me from Earthling.

this is not good guys. It's like something he cooked up for his daughter's powerpoint to get her into Yale.

Fallout Today might be my favourite from Earthling.

This is one song that I was weary of, but it really wasn't what I had assumed, at least musically. The intro is pretty great. The song goes places that weren't apparent from the initial clips, but the lyrics are what probably hold this one back for me. I can appreciate the sentiment, though.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

rhe lyrics are so corny haha, music saves it tho; love the staccato rhythm guitar under the soloing; definitely captures the 50s

Haven't heard the full song yet, but, judging from the clip and all of your impressions, his daughters might roll their eyes now, however, one day, when Ed's no longer on this coil, they'll cherish this one.
That's why I'm fine with however corny it gets.

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
