I haven't listened, but don't really know what to expect, especially with the descriptions of the songs I'm hearing. Like, Waiting For Stevie is supposed to be the most Ten-sounding song they've ever written since Ten, but I listened to the 30-second clip, and it just sounds nothing like that to me (that's not a knock on the song one way or the other, it's just that I wonder how wide the gulf for me will be between what I've heard about the songs and what I think they actually are).

I don’t think it sounds at all like Ten.

Yeah it might be the quality of the version I have but it doesn't sound one iota like Ten era PJ to me. Ed does sustain his notes a bit more like he used to. But overall the main riff sounds nore like The Cult to me. Great song tho.

In reality, the Pearl Jam grunge sound that most people relate to them lasted all of maybe 6 songs...Once through Black. After that and through Vs. it's much more of a classic hard rock sound. WFS is more in the latter vein to my ears.

Haha, yeah, when I think of people saying Pearl Jam was never the same after Ten/Vs, sometimes I think to myself, "Pearl Jam was never the same after Oceans."

Yea none of the clips are super exciting to me but really sounds like they are not fully representative of the actual songs. WFS sounds more like something off LB mid tempo

Thanks, Thurman. Everyone should take time to read this and the RS interview with Watt. We couldn't ask for a better thing to have happened to Pearl Jam.

I can't believe were 4 days away from this. I can't wait for more interviews. I can't wait for that first full listen! I can't wait to read Stip's interpretations of the lyrics.

It doesn’t sound anything like Ten to me either. It’s more in lines with I Got Shit if were included on Yield. Not a bad thing at all though. The outro to the song might be the Ten characteristic.

The thing that reminds me of the Ten era in WFS is Ed sustaining notes the way he often did on Ten. That and Mike's solo. The riff is also great.

WFS feels like what In Hiding would have turned into if it was written in 1992. Doesn’t sound like Ten but it has some of those sensibilities.

As someone who has collected bootlegs forever, the listening party recording(s) are much higher than some of the old school bootlegs that I've heard over the years haha.
