Love the urgency in Ed’s voice in the final half of this.

Based on the phone recording and clip this kinda feels like Lightning Bolt refracted through Who Ever Said

Not really a fan of the main riff and verses...but the chorus is pretty great and the bridge through the end really elevates the song. Not sure where I'll end up on this one.

I don't dislike anything about this song, but I suppose if you were expecting a really classic Stone riff, that it might be a bit of a letdown. I'm just rating what I hear without any preconceived notions. I think the riff and the verses work really well within the context of the song, without being the truly memorable parts of it. It's a 5 star rocker for me.

I also really like what I could make out of the lyrics. Ed's delivery is fantastic on this and the vocal melody in that chorus and bridge rules.
Pearl Jam is the only band I'll spend money on.

Miles better than Running as a viable single, in my opinion. A strong stock album starter.

Im curious about those who said Ed´s singing reminded them of BRY, which it would be totally cool if thats the case. I love when he sings that way.

the verse lyrics to this one were quite like Save You, addressed to someone self-destructive; it reminded me of Kurt

Evidence building up that Running as a single was a genuine troll job.

I didn’t like this one much. One of my least favorite openers but the album got better after that. Very surprising lyrics especially with the reference to setting sun and the bookend at the end (setting sun) which I assume was about the same topic. This is a breakup album which seemed a departure for Eddie.

I think they should have opened the album with DM, and that would have made Wreckage move down a spot, because its current location throws me completely off the mood.

I think this is THE rocker on this album and the song I will enjoy even when I play it 5 or 10 years later. It has that sort of quality to it that rockers like Corduroy or Rearviewmirror do; they just sound fresh anytime you play them. The band is at their best here.

I'm definitely toying around with the track placements, DM could work as an opener. I really like SoF but it's main riff is just a tad weak. Maybe had they upped the distortion on it. It's a good track, but not the most electrifying opener it could have been

I honestly like this one better on the poor-quality listening party leaks. In better quality, I think I prefer Who Ever Said.

If my interpretation is right this song is first because it sets the tone for the themes of the album (a broken relationship). It’s similar to Last Exit in that way I guess in that it’s more of a tone setter than anything else. So I think it works as the opener but I definitely like who ever said much better as a song.

It also referenced a setting sun meaning there’s some bookending. The first song is more angry and the last mournful and longing but imo about the same thing.

Pound for pound between the two, WES is the better song. I still get that "One bad ear and one eye blind..." part stuck in my head on the regular. SOF does share some elements with it especially in the bridge/outro? Between this one and React, Respond I think I might prefer the latter at the moment.
