I would love to go bowling, arcade gaming, eating, while this record plays; and that's a big compliment as those are the places I want to hear pop-leaning rock music, in public

Right now I love the most unashamed pop songs on the record the most. That might be because they're the most immediate, we will see in the future. There are some songs that sound epic and soaring but I'm not sure if they have enough songwriting meat on them yet? (Upper Hand, WFS, Setting Sun). Maybe they just need more time. This is just first time listening rambling.

Once I get over the lyrics cheese, Something Special isn't bad.

I still think it is interesting that after a few full album listens, I'm still of the opinion that Dark Matter and Running are the two worst songs on the record.

Something special is a corny delight. Way more enjoyable, imo, than their sappy ballads from the past few albums.

yep - got it too of course, as my red 10c variant waits in fucking no man's land. Honestly we should all email them back a snarky response like...

Noticed the Email was sent as 'High Importance' too...... :?:
Feel free to copy and paste the email I just sent to them...

You know what would be even better than a download for 1 stinkin' song? If you gave me a download for the entire album, especially considering that I already paid a silly amount for shipping and my album is not arriving on time. You'd think $20 for shipping wouldn't result in me having to wait 3 extra days after release day for my album to arrive? Not a good look Ten Club

Whoever said WfS’s riff sounded very much like The Cure was spot on. There are a few British sounding riffs/arrangements in this.

Upper Hand, WFS and Setting Sun are my initial favorites, but hearing them better just elevated all of them, so, who knows. And as others mentioned - I don’t necessarily care for Something Special, but as a dad of 3 kids those lyrics actually brought tears to my eyes.

100% the most emotionally heavy they've been since Riot Act, even with the more pop presentation

i am in a fragile space right now, in back to back to back meetings and can't listen. But this made me snort out loud

Wow!
I'm all in on this album now
about a half dozen listens to the lo-fi record store listening party
2 back to back listens last night at the theatre
2 back to back listens of "the plumbing issue" that's being widely reported

The lyrics on this are deceptively amazing. There is a definite string and theme on this album
The title now feels to me like a play on words "Dark Matter" the content is all matters that are very dark
Love , Loss, Loss of Love
I am of the believe that Upper Hand, Setting Sun & Scared of Fear are about Chris
Eddie said on Stern that he hadn't yet processed that loss
I believe (in my opinion) that this album's lyrics are the act of processing that loss

The music is Ace -the band is firing on all cylinders on this album
But Oh my did lyrics hit me hard today
Perhaps, I'm reaching here because there's a few complicated relationships in my life at the moment that feel really similar to what I'm hearing get addressed on this album
Some of this is stuff is hitting REALLY close to home. It's tripping me out. BIG TIME
Or at least it feels that way right now...Today

Amazing that the voice of my teenage years & the soundtrack of my adolescence is now back in my adulthood hitting me with some truth and words of wisdom.

I'm really in love with this record right now
Hope you guys are feeling good about this one too

I really loved Gigaton, not all of it has had the staying power that I had hoped
But this one feels like a record that I'm not going to just be cherry picking certain songs and sticking on a playlist
But an album to put on - with headphones - and take the whole journey
front to back.

I'm currently in the process of applying for a new job because my current one is kind of bad for my mental well being and this album is just what I needed

Honestly i would truly love to have someone explain to me how you could be involved with the making and marketing of this album and think that Dark Matter would make for a better lead single than Won't Tell.

If i was a more casual fan and heard Won't Tell on the radio it would absolutely stop me in my tracks and get caring about this band again.

Dang, there are so many of you greedy little buggers!

Did RM get so excited by this album that we all went out and bred a bunch of new baby RMers?
