Helll of alot of compression! Could it be from the Rip? Gigaton kinda took care of that problem…are we there again?
Has to just be from the rip. No way
I've never ripped music from a CD in my life...Can you typically change the gain when doing that?

Alternatively, if this is done using internal routing -- like sending a streaming link to a DAW -- that is very easy to screw up if you don't know what you're doing.
No, there's (generally) no easy way to add additional gain when ripping a CD.

I think this is just what the album sounds like, for better or worse.
Well its definitely for worse. Seems like such an easy thing to avoid and only would result if the goal is simply to be loud.
I’m going to withhold final judgment until we get an official release on Friday. But it’s not looking good.

And the trade offs are immediate. The outro of SoF doesn’t build up at all, despite their obviously playing to that intent. But that’s what happens when you start the song at 10, nowhere to go from there. Players’ emotions just squished out of the music.
Curious to see if the Atmos mix is any better. Seems like it was a huge mixed bag for the theatre experience.

It does seem a bit unnecessary considering there's also a jam at the end of the next . song.
I like the lift alot. You are right it isn't necessary . Glad for it though.

it's sure to be better, but in that situation obviously at the mercy of individual cinemas' sound systems

Yeah, it is pretty tough going.

Makes for a very exhausting listen.

It's all beating you in the ear-drum at the same volume, repeatedly.
