I loved this. Very sweet and endearing. One of my favorites on the album. I love when Eddie just embraced his grown up perspective. And a great melody.

I love the groove of the song. I don't mind a folksy side note on the album, but the lyrics just feel so juvenile.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I couldn't think of it, but now I know what song this one reminds me of. Lookout Kid by Arcade Fire. Very similar in its message and vibe. Songs that can be quite sweet, endearing and moving at first but don't tend to age very well.

I did not want to like this song when it started. But the corniness grew on me. Still not sure if I will ever like it? But I don't hate it.

Just imagining Eddie's kids being like, "We appreciate the sentiment, but that song kinda sucks."

I feel like Ed's voice sounds pretty Vs. on this one, weirdly (Elderly Woman)

not sure why I didn't hear it sooner, but this has exactly the same groove as Last Kiss, with added shuffle; I think that's a big reason why it works for me

I’m thinking about possibly considering the possibility of maybe bumping this up to 3 stars.

This is much better than other songs in this category. The extra touches from the band really elevate it too.

The rough outline of the verse's chord progression is G B F# D7 C if anyone's trying to play along. Very sweet song, hope his daughters enjoy it more than us hahaha

Everything in this song is great except the lyrics. Agree with all the comments that it's done knowingly and everyone's in on the cheese, etc. But still, I look forward to giving the album a listen with this trimmed from the playlist, just to see how it feels. This is the only song that takes me out of the moment.

You, yes even you, Something Special, are starting to grow on me. Just a little.

This song, thematically, reminded my gf of "I Wish You Pain" by Andy Grammer and when she played that for me, I could see it.

This was in that Kerrang! review and says it perfectly...

In their early years, Pearl Jam’s earnest nature was often used – unfairly – to lampoon them. Yet their unflinching sentimentality remains their greatest asset. It would be an unfeeling soul indeed not to be moved by the sound of a man who started his career mourning the father he never really knew singing, now, as the dad who has given everything.

definitely, and ultimately I think that's why it works better than I expected on the album and keeps growing; there's depth underneath the cheese, it's like a very beery, mustardy cheese fondue

it's a bird-leaving-the-nest-type sentiment.
