I've only (!) been a fan since 2001 but my God, that's been a privilege.

Just got it.

Get headphones and play with your settings to get the sound you want. (R&B is working for me on iPhone. Consolidates and adds a little more heft to everything)

Is this album release the opposite of recent cycles?

In recent cycles, I feel like we heard stuff to get really excited about but then when the album dropped out there significant disappointment.

This time around, many were feeling lukewarm about the singles and tempered expectations, only to have that rewarded with the actual album.

Funny to hear Jeff say that he wouldn't have gotten away with playing his 12-string on studio albums these days, but Watt said "Why? Just play it". Mike also seems to be unleashed and not stifled.

Watt will have detractors for perhaps production reasons, but he should be praised for encouraging spontaneity and capturing the band's musical instincts which are still firing, based on this record.

Agreed. Releasing Running as a single was a borderline troll.

I was pondering this the other day... Ten, Vs and Yield were the only albums that I received so much joy on first listen, so it's not completely out of the question... even though it sounds nuts to even consider.
