Not sure if the lyrics for this have been posted anywhere as yet but I kinda need them for, believe it or not, my daughter. She's had a rough time the past week and I want to play this for her but want her to be able to read along to the lyrics as she listens.

Here's what I got - any help appreciated:

i am not the first person to make this observation, but i was struck this morning by how deceptively bittersweet this song is. definitely depths i didn’t immediately appreciate

It was a mistake of mine to view from the start as a trite little ditty as it definitely is not. It is really hard to right a on the nose pointed song to someone you love . He did a great job. I really appreciate the line about the devil . It speaks to the fears we have as parents when we send our children out into the world. What he has seen over the years from his peers probably terrifies him explains the them pulling back a little after pj 20. There was much more important work to do than be in a band. I never would have thought after hearing the snippet that I would think this album is better off because of this song , but it is.

I agree, it thematically enhances this album as a whole

The better quality leak has raised this from a tolerable 3 stars to a decent 3.5 stars. Still think it's unnecessary on the album, but it's not a clunker like I had feared.

But it’s “proof” not “through”

I like “through” better. It accentuates the hurt of knowing your children may have to go through what you went through and it’s hard letting them go to do that
