Gah. Agreed.
Proof that Avocado suffers from its own recording process. Had they been recorded like Riot Act or Binaural.......the possibilities.

Listening to Stone speak right after listening to Ed is really amazing. A succinct, articulate, effective communicator vs. a wake-and-bake surfer trying his darnedest to sound profound.

"Ur... it seems like the vocals and the songs, it's like surfing. The words and the lyrics, they... they write the song."

I love that raw sound. Had the album sounded more like the EPK, I bet a lot of folks would like Avocado a lot more. I know I would.

Would have benefited from a more stripped, garage-y sound emphasizing the three guitar attack. Less processed. And less Big Wave, Gone and Inside Job. The rest I dig a helluva lot.

I can get on board with all of that. Except the part about Big Wave. I think spenno (or whatever the hell is name is now) and I are the only ones who like it around here.

I've always loved the avocado promo, to me its one of the best periods of the band. It was Ed back being angry and the album was just awesome. 2006, good times.

I wonder how many times a day Stone rolls his eyes in quiet frustration when Pearl Jam are rehearsing or recording.

Probably not that much since his voice is pretty incredible and has made him millions.
