I think it fits ok on album. My main puzzling on this song is why they put it out as a 'single' - it felt more like 'here's another song from the album' than a single. Haven't heard it once on radio.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Oh now that's interesting... I like that.
The best I could do was try to somehow relate it to the "tunnel." But then it's this weird mixed metaphor and my head hurts.

it works so well on the record. Something Special too. i can almost see the thought process behind choosing them if you dont consider they might land differently as stand alones
really its a whole album of potential singles.
