It's not surprising, but you can tell Neil and his team put great care into these Atmos mixes. As opposed to some of Pearl Jam's Atmos mixes, which are a bit more of a crapshoot.

I don't think Binaural has an Atmos mix. Even though it seems like their most Atmos-worthy album.tragabigzanda wrote:How do the Blake mixes from Binaural sound?Farmer John wrote:It's not surprising, but you can tell Neil and his team put great care into these Atmos mixes. Only Ten, Vs., No Code, Yield, LB, Gigaton, and DM.
I’ve only listened (headphones) to Yield, and it’s great.

Re: The Official Neil Young Thread
As far as I can tell, these are all the albums in Dolby Atmos on Apple Music right now (!)
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
After the Gold Rush
Harvest
On the Beach
Zuma
Chrome Dreams
Comes a Time
Rust Never Sleeps
Freedom
Harvest Moon
Mirrorball
World Record
Fu##Iin Up
I'm going to have to sit down and do a proper listen to all of these, because everything I've heard so far sounds fantastic. It sounds more like a really good (immersive) stereo mix, rather than a gimmicky 3D thing. Very tastefully done.
I might start with Rust Never Sleeps, because Thrasher and Pochahontas were blowing my mind. Some of the quieter songs are where the real magic happens. The delicate background instrumentation of Pochahontas really shines. Pardon My Heart, Through My Sails, Comes a Time, Oh Lonesome Me...wonderful stuff. The vocal harmonies on Tell Me Why sound incredible.
