the weird thing about this current discussion is that he sounded great on the two new songs but struggled on the old :bammer:

scared of fear shows he can still sing rock songs effectively without needing to go artificially high

You’re right. Somehow in this conversation I was arguing as if it were 2013 :-)

I think Ed sounded good on the new songs. Interested to see how he does on the other new ones in the upcoming shows.

I would take a show that’s two hours max, no covers.

do singers generally ‘age’ more rapid than other musicians, or is it just easier to notice?

It's gotta be the latter, right?

What does an aging guitarist sound like? Can you hear arthritis?

Yeah, I've definitely heard guitarists (or drummers, etc.) who get much less dexterous as they age.

Timing isn't so hot any more, transitions are clumsier and less fluid, etc.

Not to blow smoke up the guy, but trag's posts have been great during this album cycle.

No knock against stip but I'm never going to read his in-depth song reviews - it's just not my thing.

Much rather hear trag talk about drums.

My wife saw me watching the Stern videos and asked why Ed looks so puffy.
