Tried to listen to the full album again (proof!) thinking maybe if I gave it a careful headphones listen... no such luck. Is this a safe space to talk about this? I made it halfway into "Waiting for Stevie" before I felt the same kinda sick you feel when you eat too much candy and your body starts calling out for something with nutritional value. I just can't stomach this shit. Half these songs sound like slightly louder Keane. The other half just sound like Lightning Bolt 2.0.

I'm not listening to it just because there is a song called Waiting For Stevie.

Some Belle and Sebastian on that last.fm list.

Nice.

It’s like backspacer and lightning bolt played simultaneously from a phone speaker inside my ears. It’s a relief when I finally decide to turn it off. I solved the problem by never listening to it again.

we don’t ‘need’ to do that

all we need is to just not listen to / think about that other one

and everything else is a bonus

Lol thank you. That was EXACTLY my first feeling on listening to this. I've been trying to figure out why people are gushing with praise over this album but I can barely make it past the first 4 songs. React/Respond and bits and parts of Wreckage are about the only things I like on here. Waiting for Stevie is unlistenable.

There are some truly terrible song titles on this album.

I don't have a strong opinion on it. It's nothing I want to hear again, but it didn't upset me like most of their atrocious pramg crap.

"Wreckage" is decent but about two minutes too long. By the end I'm like "shut up! Just shut up!"

Vedder's voice really grates on me these days. I can't stand the way he sings now, and his voice isn't a fit for these kinds of songs.

Wtf is he doing on Waiting For Stevie?

Yeah agreed about Wreckage being too long. I also don't care for the outro, it has this whole tacked on anthemic/soaring vocals thing going on that seems to be a thing for much of the album but in this case, I found it took away from my enjoyment of what was, otherwise, a pretty decent song.
