leave the alien vs predator movies out though. And you need to include Prometheus and Covenant.
And why leave out AvP?
yeah chronological is alright

Don't go out of your way to watch. 3 and 4 are ok. The new ones are terrible, regardless of what some people here seem to think.wease wrote:I’ve not seen any of these after the first sequel. Is it a series I should devote my time towards watching?

I appreciated the new look and take on the Alien franchise, but holy shit do some dumb things happen in that movie. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.E.H. I've watched Covenant once or twice since my original theater viewing and it was better than I remembered. Still disappointing, however.

What if they had titled this, "Alien: Bonerous?" Thoughts?

Would be a good song they were sticking closer to the original Giger conceptEnsign9 wrote:What if they had titled this, "Alien: Bonerous?" Thoughts?

I've seen everything, including the two AVP movies. You could live your life without seeing anything other than Alien & Aliens and die without regrets.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Alien: Covenant is terrible. Re: Alien: Romulus
I'm putting this here--for now--because of you jokers and your mass threads:
Saw Alien at the theater today. Incredible experience. Looked and sounded great and I was amazed how many little, new things I picked up that I'd never noticed before: set design elements, acting nuances, score, sound effects; the list goes on. Highly recommend going to see it before it leaves theaters.
The film was preceded by a brief interview segment with Alvarez and Scott. Mostly Alvarez fawning over Ridley.

Re: Alien: Romulus
Funnily enough, the only part of it that didn’t feel timeless was the redone MUTHR computer screen effects (I think they were redone for the Quadrilogy DVD release). Completely incongruent with the rest of the terminals throughout the ship — it looks like a 2000s-era DVD menu!VinylGuy wrote:Alien is a timeless masterpiece.

Re: Alien: Romulus
The bit with the facehugger trying to ram itself into the guy's mouth made me laugh a little. Very Alvarez.
Still not sold on this, though. On the one hand, Fede looks like he's WORKING visually. On the other hand, the cast of anonymous babies is a bummer and it doesn't really seem like this is bringing anything new or inventive. And it will forever be a tragedy that we got this instead of Scott's planned final Alien film.
