Re: Try to Write You a Love Song - A St. Vincent Thread
WOW! this is great.
I haven't listened to St. Vincent since strange mercy and the self titled, both of which I adore.
I just couldn't get into ME.
So I am all in on those early classic albums and this new one. Have I missed anything in between?

This is maybe my favorite of hers since the S/T. The one that really had an impact on me this first time through is The Power's Out; it's the kind of torch song sounding like NIN that she's uniquely equipped to do.

I kinda feel the singles were the strongest tracks and i would add to that list maybe Hell Is Near, Violent Times and The Power´s Out.
Both Sweetest Fruit and So Many Planets are not clicking with me yet.

PSA: The Dolby Atmos version on Apple Music sounds impeccable.

i really like those acoustic guitars in Hell Is Near, they sound like something Jimmy Page would play.

I really like the groove it has. That’s Justin in bass in all the album?

Yeah, Justin Meldal-Johnsen is credited with bass and/or various percussion on all tracks except Big Time Nothing.

I think I'm ready to just call this the second best record of the year so far.
