I am happy to livestream our upcoming train trips in Italy in September if that helps? We will be doing Venice to Bologna, Bologna to Rome, Rome to Naples and Naples to Sorrento (Return).

You'll never want to leave Bologna. I'm jealous of your trip!

Also, can you take a train across Australia? Or is that not possible.

I've never been to Italy and am hell looking forward to it for sure.

Australia has 2 of the great train trips of the world. The Indian Pacific goes across the country west to east from Perth to Sydney, while the Ghan goes south to north, Adelaide to Darwin.

Fly out of Perth 13th September to Venice. That bit is booked. Meant to fly home from Athens after doing our last week in Santorini, about 10th of October or do (that bits not yet booked).

I would not ask you to do that so as for you to soak in the experience unencumbered, but a few minutes here and there would be cool

Not a problem-o. I will not be having showers on any of the trains that I travel on, but will however ensure to livestream at least 5 mins of each journey, and, in honour of #'sUP, will ensure that during those 5 minutes I take a wander to the men's room and see what there is to be seen about the urinal at that time.

Can't see how that could be an issue for any reasonable, not-hung-up-about-his-sexual-orientation, man.

Train rides I've taken. All round trip tourist endeavors.

Palestine, TX to Rusk, TX
This one is kind of a rite of passage for kids in East Texas. The train goes through thick piney woods and lumber towns. I went as a kid and would love to go again with my kid now.

Durango, CO to Silverton, CO
Like the East Texas trip, but obviously much more scenic. Some breathtaking views through the San Jose mountain range. Took this ride in the late 90s when I was in high school. I remember marvelling at the random snowbanks in the shady parts of the mountains even though it was summer.

Non-US rides

Chihuaha, Mexico to El Fuerte, Mexico
Took this train thru the Copper Canyon in the Sierra Madre mountain range of Northern Mexico in 1990. I don't think it would be too safe today, which is sad. This was a two week trip and we'd stay in small towns populated by Tarahumara. I remember so many rock formations and small crafted things sold at the train stations. Once in a lifetime trip.

I also took a trip on the Cairnes Kurunda railway in Australia back in 1995. The apex of the trip was an aboriginal performance in a forest before we turned back around.

I really hope this works out for you, Jorge. I've regretted not taking the train trip I was planning for last spring

Interesting video here about the experience

I'm a little worried about space. At my height and, uh, girth, the roomette is gonna be very uncomfortable, and the bedroom is just way too expensive (more than double)

But I guess comfort isn't really the point for this kind of journey
