I don't think I've made my obligatory MM post yet this year:

Corduroy is a great song. Corduroy is also the band's most overrated song.

This, but about "Immortality," and removing the part about it being great, because it sucks

I still love Corduroy! It's an incredible song. But it isn't even top 5 song on Vitalogy, let alone the best thing the band has recorded.

Your undying hatred for Immortality is genuinely one of my favorite RM things.

I voted for Immortality but I do think in many ways Corduroy is probably the most representative song of theirs in the catalogue and the most uniquely them. Both songs have been with us 30 years and in the context of now, Immortality speaks to me more. Yet, when I go back to walking out of my very first Pearl Jam show in 1996 with my close friends glowing about one of the most amazing experiences of our lives, the song we were gushing about was Corduroy, and what it was like to experience that one live. There are many other songs that are uniquely Pearl Jam, but that one seems to somehow be an amalgam of their sound. I still voted for Immortality.

Jorge, what's one of your favorite songs you view as quintessential PJ?

I don't really know how to answer "quintessential" but here's a playlist with my favorite PJ songs: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2aqn1 ... 943385406c

If you really think about it, this matchup is the ultimate Pearl Jam song vs. the penultimate Vitalogy song.
