Re: Setting Sun
Ending on the percussion from the beginning would be great and a lovely change for the live version, but the studio version is perfect as is, especially without a fade-out. Fading the song out after saying “let us not fade” is kinda cheesy and too on the nose, and the album closing on that heart wrenching final note is such a beautifully sad moment. It highlights the song’s message to cherish the fleeting time we have before it ends, and that end can come suddenly.

Why must it fade out? It doesn't fade in.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

It is the queen bee of the album. When combined with other parts of the album. It points to some sort of a spiritual transformation of Ed . He seems to really be leaning into faith as opposed to how he was holding on to hope in the past.stip wrote:was really struck by ‘if it’s not okay then I guess it aint the end’ this morning

Well it's never gonna be OK is it? So it's never the end. It's eternal.
