We have a related thing where we have pretty big gaps in our understanding of native Americans. Any found remains get repatriated to a tribe and they generally don't allow any genetic or other forensic testing.

Contra the Bering land bridge theory, the Native Americans have always been in North America (per some cultural/ religious traditions). You might disagree. You might have evidence to the contrary. But you have to ask yourself, is it worth violating The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act over?

It is kinda interesting how the Israel/Palestine issue cuts across the usual tribal lines in America and beyond. Entrenched establishment boomercons and libs vs. protestor kids, socialists, antisemitites and isolationists. It's very resistant to the great realignment that is currently happening, but not impervious.
