this thread is dedicated to the GOATs. the people who excel(led) so much in their sports that they earned the title of GOAT. let’s talk about the Gretzkys, MJs, Tom Bradys, Babe Ruths, the Messis, etc., in this thread.

no Lebron talk allowed. ;)

Goat contains the superlative greatest. By definition there can only be one. With rule changes, advancement in technology, inclusion vs exclusivity, and a variety of other factors, I don’t think it’s possible to definitively name a goat in any sport. Except hockey. I think 99 would be the best man on the ice in any era.

Getzky will always have an * for me, his talent was remarkable but I honestly feel he was protected. When it began is certainly debatable but I'm a Ranger fan and with his tenure there it was clear as day.
