Freakin' awful

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Re: RIP Steve Albini
Absolutely terrible...it's kind of hard to wrap your arms how many great albums he worked on, across tons of styles.
He's also one of the most informative and accessible people to talk about music production and how he does what he does; if you're trying to do some recording on your own, his videos and interviews are essential. He explains everything in a way that doesn't dumb anything down but completely sidesteps the terminology and lingo that can feel impossible to decipher.

"Engineered" two of my favorite rock records of all time.
Always pushed back against industry nonsense and had more integrity than just about anyone.

Re: RIP Steve Albini
Huge bummer. I spent a long time thinking Albini was a petulant snob because at some point he dissed a couple bands I liked, but over the last few years following his presence on social media and (more importantly) seeing his business and artistic practices made it clear that he was an uncommonly principled and admirable dude who was right about a lot of things. He made those drums sound huge, too. RIP

Is the production on Dark Matter a prime suspect?
