Gross.

It tastes nothing like mayo. But like a lot of burger sauces it uses a mayo base to provide a creamy texture and aid in emulsification

Mayo gets an unfairly bad rap. I’m not a big fan of it on its own (texture, heaviness), but it’s a fantastic base when mixed with other things.

Also, I’ve been turned on to cooking with mayo more. Try making a grilled cheese sandwich but instead of butter on the outside of the toast, do mayo. It’s unreal. So freaking good.

I’m not gonna say I don’t want Pearl Jam to get weird, but I think their definition of that is very different from a Radiohead. Sometimes Pearl Jam can get a little too by the numbers and become a carbon copy of themselves, like on Lightning Bolt, but Dark Matter doesn’t have that feel - this is a band flexing a bit on their own strengths. I got no problem with that.

i wish Radiohead, if they are still a band, would do the same on their next album. Just quit the whole get weird and do a direct album again. Maybe thats why i like The Smile last album so much, because it kinda feels like that.

I'm flabbergasted by this take. The Smile has been Thom and Johnny's open invitation to be as weird as they want to be.

Yeeeeaaah. Even Friend of a Friend is not straightforward at all. In fairness, I’ve only listened to the album once, and anything made by thom yorke and Johnny greenwood requires multiple attentive listens

I like Radiohead's late period records but everything I've heard from the Smile has bored me to death.

Sames and it disappoints me. Moon shaped pool was great. Can't get into the smile. Feels like watered down Radiohead. Like the lightning bolt of Radiohead

I finally watched that Zane Lowe interview. Fantastic. It wasn’t in there specifically, but maybe I found that one word that’s summed up my feeling on this album in the few weeks we’ve had it: magic.

its way more melodic and structured than a lot of RH´s music like KOL for example.

Thank you so much! I downloaded this and had to install an audio player on my phone that plays m4a files. It was worth it. The sound is pretty darn good. Just got through Low Light. I was talking about Ed sustaining notes in the WFS thread... and well, he holds the "This dream I see" at around 3:03 for 18 seconds.

I streamed the bootleg this morning and I was really impressed, particularly with Ed's voice. He seems s to be in good shape from the get go.

What's with his guitar tone on Corudroy? Sounds pathetic and minute, and Stone is also turned way down which I don't agree with.

Other than that it's a great show and the new songs all sound wonderful.

I've always loved Sleight of Hand but yeah in no way do i think its better than everything on DM.

Sleight of Hand is a quality composition at the more experimental end of the spectrum. Great fit on Binaural. I enjoy it when going cover to cover on the album.

I have, never in my life, turned to sleight of hand out of the blue, as I have for scores and scores of their other tracks across the records.

I don't think it's better than a single song on DM. Not one. Call it recency bias if you will, but I can envision dialing up any single track on DM before SOH....by a mile. Fuck, there on LB songs I choose as a one off listen (LTRP, Getaway, MFS, Pendulum).

I know this is uncharitable - especially given the amount of sterling effort she has put in - but my god that woman's accent is simply atrocious. Veers into the parodic on occasion.
