Is it the 300 + guests always online ?

Those are mostly bot crawlers/spiders. They only read data, rather than post it and typically don't cause any load. We've handled similar numbers of actual users posting/logged in and the load isn't this bad.

I have blocked a couple because they are superfluous crawlers that seem to be a little overzealous. This will drop the number a decent amount.
