If you cut out all the bowing in this series it would only be 3 episodes long. Max.
If you cut all of the jerking off out of Ulysses, you could read it in an afternoon.

I only made it to page 37 of that damn book.

Being a Dubliner isn’t an automatic passport into it apparently.

His book Dubliners is better by far anyways.
How could possibly make this claim when you only made it 37 pages into another one of his books

Heard an interview with the creators, and it doesn’t seem like a second season is in the works. But we know how these things go. Whether they’re involved or not, something will probably follow, even if it’s “in the Shogun universe.”

Well it’s like when the fans of something are so deranged it turns you off ever checkin the thing out fully. That book has a massive cult around it. Look up bloomsday.

It’s kinda the same as Pearl jam. Im Sure they’re great but I’ve no interest in ever going near them their fans are appalling.

Rarely do i not want to see more of a show or movie that i loved, but this ended perfectly. I just read they are developing two more seasons. I think this is a big mistake.

There’s plenty of real life history of the guy it’s based on to work with
He had a bizarre mental life in Japan after the events in the book ended.

Finally got to finish it last night. Wonderful series. Quite faithful to the novel. I’m with Ruddo re: continuing seasons.

Agreed. Unless there is a Mariko prequel.

Mariko was such a central part of the first season that it sure does seem like her loss would reverberate through future seasons, but that also seems like it would be the whole point (Ned Stark anyone?). I’m willing to give future seasons a shot if the same creative team is involved.

everytime there is a new post i think itll be something about S2

Will Shōgun Return for Season 2?
Heck yes it will. Let us kick it to FX’s press release: “FX, Hulu and the Estate of James Clavell are working to extend the critically acclaimed global hit drama Shōgun, moving forward to develop the saga with two additional seasons of the drama series. The show’s key creative partners including co-creators, executive producers and writers Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo, executive producer Michaela Clavell, and series star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada are on board for the development. Production timing has not been locked in, but a writers’ room is being assembled and will begin this summer.”

you havent yet? such a treat in store. It takes its time when it has to, gives you time to stop and look around. Its a feast for the eyes and senses. design and sets and costumes and all of it, outta this world.
and thats just the background stuff. its a beautifully balanced tense story too.
