I thought what Bart was saying was that while "season 5 sucks" was the wide consensus at one time, over the years there have been many season 5 apologists and revisionism, making the original consensus now feel like a hot take
right, yes

Game of Thrones raised the bar on what it is to suck in a closing season. I wonder if that has anything to do with people easing up on Sopranos S5.

One season of tv that I have come around to loving is Mad Men S4. When it was originally on I felt it was really uneven with one of the best eps of the series (the Suitcase) along with a few big missteps. But now I think it’s great, although the journaling episode is still stupid.

Seeing Will Arnett on The Sopranos is a bit disarming.

I don't objectify women so I wouldn't know much about it but good luck surviving Christina Hendricks and her insane titties.

3 episodes in and this reminds me of how I felt when I started Breaking Bad - what is all the fuss about? I already really dislike Don Draper. Of course, I wound up loving BB after the first season was out of the way. I’m hoping this goes the same way.

Heh, this probably won't be happening.

I think the longer you spend time with the characters, the more you appreciate the show. We’re almost midway through season 3 and I genuinely look forward to an episode each night. Maybe it will wear out it’s welcome, but I think I’ll more likely feel a void. Thus far, it doesn’t really fit with the other 3 titles in the thread subject. The Sopranos is the godfather of this era. I think that Better Call Saul and The Americans are 2 and 3 for me.
