But I don't like Ed giving up guitar duties to JK. He plays guitar on something special. Same with setting sun.
Hmm. I knew he didn’t play on Stevie. So is he gonna start doing this with the older, more established tunes, too? Don’t really care for that idea.
Ed is still playing guitar on the songs he primarily wrote, like Wreckage and Got To Give.
Josh K wrote the music to Something Special, or a good chunk of it, so it makes sense he plays guitar on that one.
Setting Sun calls for an acoustic and two electrics, so Josh picks up the acoustic. I'm sure they could find a way to make it work with two guitars but they don't need to right now.
If Josh moves on to another project, what happens then? Who knows.

I haven't seen a video where Ed plays guitar on wreckage ?

You’re right and I’m a bozo.
For what it’s worth, this was a thing on the Gigaton touring too, Ed never played guitar on Who Ever Said and only played the Ebow intro on Never Destination.
and if it means Ed can focus more on his vocals (which at this age, he needs to do) then please go for it

imo josh has made himself an essential part of the band and the band has clearly welcomed it. they don't have the good to great shows they've had these post-covid years without him, and there's at least two shows that they most likely don't play at all without him.

Agreed. He brings a lot more to the table than Oven Mitts on the Hammond.

another project? lol the guy is playing with the band he grew up listening to, i think he's good where he is
like everyone else., i love his contributions. i think he harmonizes great with EV, the extra percussive stuff he does is always fun, i dont think they can play 'dotc' live w/o him, and he got ed to sing part of 'purple rain'. i hope he doesnt go anywhere
I didn't notice anything different from night 1. Show one is the clear winner over night two: they were sloppier and sounded rushed the second night. Still good!
For what it is worth, I enjoyed night 1 more than night 2 - but I'm sure some of that is based on where I was sitting.
Ed talked about being sick and having throat issues early on in Night 2 and how he had an IV a few hours before the show - he definitely talked more on night 2 to give his voice a rest, but I thought he sounded more or less the same.
