I really did sleep on the floor a few nights ago. Partially bc I had a few drinks and it was comfortable, and partially bc my back was stiff. Woke up the next morning feeling like a had the posture of a Royal Guard.

My mattress has a soft pillow top built into it. It’s very comfortable but I’ve found myself becoming progressively uncomfortable with it. When I travel and sleep on firm mattresses I sleep like a baby. When I move I’ve considered getting rid of my mattress, not have to move it , and just get a new firm one on arrival.

My grandma used to have this special orthopedic mattress. It was extremely firm to the point where most people would find it uncomfortable. Not me. I loved that thing. After she died my dad kept it and would roll it out whenever I visited. That thing was HEAVY. No clue what it was made of. If I was single I'd look into getting a similar one for myself now.

I think I still prefer a softer mattress overall, but I don’t like when I feel too sunken in. I sleep hot and it creates an airflow issue where my head and body get too warm. I prefer a firmer pillow for this reason too.

Yeah this. Better chance of not waking up with a crook shoulder, as I’m a side sleeper a good part of the night.

question for the side-sleepers.

do you sleep one leg over the other, knees not touching?

or

one leg on top of another, knees touching or a pillow between your knees?

I usually burn up so I have a fan blowing on me and the sheet over my pelvis and that’s it. I usually go back and forth between side and back.

Knees touching but with something in between them. I don’t like my leg skin touching my other leg skin
