I brought my parents a bunch of meals for the week. It’s a 3 hour drive that took 4 in holiday traffic. I haven’t been to this house (the one I grew up in) since before Covid. I can’t remember the last time I was here without my wife and kids. So much of it is frozen in time. I’ve sat here quietly with a lot of memories. I’m really glad I grew up in the 70s/80s/90s. What a time to be alive. I’m overwhelmed with nostalgia here. My parents really did the best they could, and they fucking killed it, as far as I’m concerned.

we had hour long massages this morning and then stopped at the local bbq to bring home some brisket, spare ribs and spicy sausage..probably just fall asleep on the couch soon while watching golf

did some stationary bike and attempted to play bball outdoors and of course injured some muscle in my neck/back

i’m such a boomer i took a nap

started the day at the hospital. met with docs, some very minimal improvement by my stepdad. still in a just wait and see stage but not looking good. snuck back to chicago this afternoon and tomorrow for some normalcy. likely back to wisconsin thursday for some tough talks.
