Killer axe. What part(s) are non-standard? The neck profile?

I don't even know, to be honest. I wanted a good tele with a rosewood fretboard and no high output "modern" sounding pickups. Mod shop let me build it, for a modest premium.

Nice. Let us know what you think of the 60s Burstbuckers. I have pros in my LP. Never felt the need to replace them.Strat wrote:this is being shipped out to me on Friday

Oh shit, beautiful SG there, Strat. But are you trying to steal Jorge's thunder? He's our SG guy. Seems insensitive to do this to him.

Re: Gearhead Thread
Hopefully Jorge will allow this!
This is actuall my second SG. First one i got was maybe 2004 for like $850 bucks? cherry red. The thing fell out of a soft case and smashed on the concrete driveway about 12 years ago. Split right at the headstock. I had it fied and repaired and been fine ever since, with a cool battle scar. I love the way SG's play and SOUND. However, moving forward, i wanted to treat myself with a real nice quallity new SG. This 61 gets just absolute rave reviews. People seem to love the PU's in this thing. Im also getting it Plek'd prior to delivery which is a new thing for me.
Pretty pumped. Love the color.

Re: Gearhead Thread
I want one of these so bad. MIJ Fender Jazz Hybrid II Noir. The "Hybrid II" part appears to be utter wank:
"The Made in Japan Hybrid II is a series worthy of being called a "hybrid", as it retains its vintage looks and incorporates almighty modern specs for any player or music genre. Regardless of rhythm or lead, we have created a product that combines playability and instrumental tone that fits any guitarist or bassist.
The Made in Japan Limited Hybrid II Jazz Bass®, Noir is based on the Hybrid II, with a satin black finish matching headstock for a strong look and a 3-Ply black pickguard with an eye-catching red center layer. It is equipped with a special atmosphere combined with the red metal logo on the head."
...but I still want one. In fact, if it had an ebony fretboard I'd have already pulled the trigger. What can I say -- I have a weakness.

Re: Gearhead Thread
Loving the new SG! Slightly different neck profile than my prior SG, but adapted quite quickly. Love the tone of the PU's as well. A little more articulate? at least in my head, though still sounds like an SG. I did a little bit of recording with it and love how it turned out! Super beautiful to look at.
Also, working on my new home studio!

Sweet jam den. That SG is ludicrously aesthetic.

I got this fun little toy
The tactile aspect of it makes it more rewarding than just playing around with amp sims. I've been twiddling with the presets and adjusting a bunch of stuff to get some cool sounds out of it. It's fun
