I was spoiled with great tickets to earlier shows this month … last night’s seats were still pretty good but not great. Anyway, very dark on stage at the beginning and I’m not 100% sure but I am about 99% sure Ed was not wearing a hat for the first song.

Later he made a joke about doing a wardrobe change back stage (new not-so-sweaty hat).

Hurt was very cool to see, so if you didn’t like that - suck it.

Bumped into several friends/acquaintences around the arena and got several texts about the show. That’s always fun in Seattle.

Ed gave a little speech about each of the band members’ first job (barista, pizza shop etc.) and had a very enjoyable quip about how we’re all neighbors, pass each other in our cars on the way to school, grocery store etc. Mentioned that he will sometimes drive by another car rocking out to Pearl Jam and he tries to waive but they don’t see him.

Deep Sea Diver’s drummer played for about the second half of RITFW. Nice to see that Covid is officially over with like 3-4 people sharing each mic to sing the chorus. I thought we might get to see Kim Thayil up on stage for that. Oh well.

Bring back the Sonics.

Bammer, yes I forgot he did almost all of Black sans hat. Funny how I immediately clocked it. Think he put it on during Mike’s solo. What an awesome opening to a show.

I was just getting ready to comment that Ed went the first five minutes of the show hatless. I noticed it right away and my first thought was that he was purposely trolling the fans who’ve been commenting on his new hat trend.

Kinda remind when they played this (at the time) unusual early Black in Key Arena in 2002:

i dunno if this has been mentioned, but the whole set from the start seems to be have chris cornell in mind. when was the last time they opened with "Black"? EV dedicated a version of this song to CC on his solo tour. followed by immortality. "Hurt" was dedicated to him w/o really naming him at the show. "War Pigs" tag...mccready talked about how much fun it was to play this with CC on the temple of the dog tour (that I did not go to b/c i'm an idiot)

just a couple things I noticed when I looked at the setlist again.
