Dublin, Ireland (please sir may I have a travel forum)
Hi, I am spending a few days in Dublin in August, what should I 100% absolutely do while I'm there? It's my first time

How about we start with good food and fun activitiesepilogue wrote:I don't know, man, what do you like?
Then we can move on to the dark underbelly, drug dens and sexual tourism

The real answer is meet up with dime and have him show you around. That was far and away my favorite part of my Dublin trip.

Find someone to discuss the university of Notre Dame football program with you.

The best food I had was a place called Cornucopia. It's plant food, but it's delicious and the place has a cool, fun, casual feel.
The best coffee I had was at a place called The Bald Barista.
The best spot I stumbled across for a pint of Guinness was a place called The Confession Box. Very charming
The best history/museum-y kind of spots, for me, were the exhibit at the GPO and the tour of Kilmainham Gaol. Those two paired together are a class all by themselves on the earliest days of the Republic.
My favorite spot for a stroll in the park was all around St Stephens Green.
But also, Dublin is a city and there is a degree to which a city is a city. The afternoons I took the quick train rides out of town, to Howth and to Bray in my case but you could go anywhere that looks appealing to you, on the coast with some walking trails all around, were my favorite afternoons in the area.

Thanks Argo. Yeah the bulk of my trip will actually be at a seaside town named Enniscrone but I'll be exploring Dublin for a few days first.

Make sure you see the Trinity College Library and also do the Guinness Brewery tour. Both super touristy but worth it.
And I didn’t do the Jameson tour, but do it for dougrr.

make sure to do <whatever my trip was> while you are there <as though it is a particularly desirable and not average thing>

A hurling match! I’d never heard of it before the day I went. It was so great!Jorge wrote:Hi, I am spending a few days in Dublin in August, what should I 100% absolutely do while I'm there? It's my first time
