I wonder when’s the last time Matt listened to the studio version. He probably just “remembers how it goes” from playing it over the years.
This is my favourite pearl jam song, but I haven’t really enjoyed a live version in years. In fact, if they asked me to write the setlist, I would probably omit it. And then tell them how sad I am about feeling the need to omit it. Then request Get Right

That's not a knock on Matt, he is a great drummer, but he approaches the instrument in a very different way to Jack. I'm sure he would acknowledge that too.
